Fit for the future: 10 Year Health Plan for England
Department of Health and Social Care · work from 2024 · published 2025
What this was
The national plan published in July 2025, written after the Darzi investigation. It is organised around three shifts: hospital to community, analogue to digital, and sickness to prevention. It also promises more public information on quality, a national maternity and neonatal investigation, and a more data-led CQC.
Why it sits in the hub
This is the government's own list of what it will do with the inquiry record. The Amos investigation was the maternity commitment in this plan. Whether the three shifts survive contact with waiting lists is the implementation question.
Findings
Finding 1
The plan treats lack of transparency as the common thread in repeated NHS disasters.
